The body of late Works Minister Hon. Solan Mirisim arrived in Telefomin to an emotional welcome by family, communities and national leaders. Tributes highlighted his humility, leadership and strong advocacy for rural infrastructure, Connect PNG, and national unity.

The Department of Works & Highways held a Prestart Meeting for the Railway Legal Framework Consultancy, appointing LLLS to draft laws for PNG’s first modern railway. The project will ease highway congestion, support mining and agriculture, and define rail governance.
